KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Lina Mohjazi
Associate Professor at University of Glasgow (UofG), UK
She received the B.Sc. (Honors) degree from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) University, Al-Ain, UAE, in 2008 (Full Scholarship), the M.Sc. degree from Khalifa University (KU), Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 2012 (Full Scholarship), and the Ph.D. degree from the prestigious 5G/6G Innovation Centre, University of Surrey, Guildford, U.K., in 2018, all in electrical and electronic engineering. From 2015 to 2020 she was with Khalifa University (KU) as a Lecturer. From 2018 to 2020 she was a Research Associate at the KU Center for Cyber-Physical Systems (C2PS), KU, UAE. From 2019 to 2020 she was a Visiting Research Associate with the Communications, Sensing and Imaging (CSI) group at the UofG, UK. She has co-authored more than 90 research papers in international high-impact journals and highly-rated conferences as well as book chapters. Her research interests include green and sustainable wireless communications, IoT’s, machine learning, Big Data analytics, energy efficiency, fundamental performance limits, and beyond 5G and its applications. Dr. Mohjazi is Deputy Director of the Robotics AI for NetZero (RAINZ) Centre for Doctoral Training at UofG. She is the Women in Engineering Engagement Lead at the IEEE Communication Society UK&I. She is Fellow of Women's Engineering Society (WES) and a Senior Member of the IEEE. She served as Associate Editor for the IEEE Communications Letters (received the Exemplary Editor Award 2023). Dr. Mohjazi is endorsed as a UK Exceptional Global Talent by the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK and as a “High Level Foreign Talent” by the Chinese Government. She was also the recipient of multiple teaching awards, the IEEE GPECOM 2022 Best Paper Presentation award, and the IEEE Women in Engineering UK&I Engineering Excellence award. She is an Affiliate Member of the Mohammed bin Rashid Academy of Scientists, UAE.
Martin Maier
Professor at the (EMT) Research Centre and the scientific head of the Optical Zeitgeist Laboratory
He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2003 to 2004, then joined the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) in 2005. He is currently a Professor at the Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications (EMT) Research Centre and the scientific head of the Optical Zeitgeist Laboratory. His research interests include 6G, Tactile Internet, Extended Reality, DAO, and future unified communications.
Utko Kose
Full Professor in Suleyman Demirel University, Turkey
He received M.S. degree in 2010 from Afyon Kocatepe University, Turkey in the field of computer and D.S. / Ph.D. degree in 2017 from Selcuk University, Turkey in the field of computer engineering. Between 2009 and 2011, he has worked as a Research Assistant in Afyon Kocatepe University. Following, he has also worked as a Lecturer and Vocational School - Vice Director in Afyon Kocatepe University between 2011 and 2012, as a Lecturer and Research Center Director in Usak University between 2012 and 2017, Assistant Professor in Suleyman Demirel University between 2017 and 2019, and as an Associate Professor in Suleyman Demirel University between 2019 and 2024. Currently, he is a Full Professor in Suleyman Demirel University, Turkey. Kose also gave lectures at other higher education institutions such as Gazi University and Istanbul Arel University. He also worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of North Dakota, USA (between 2023 and 2024) and holds the Honorary Professor of Artificial Intelligence title at ITM (SLS) Baroda University, India. He has more than 350 publications including articles, authored and edited books, proceedings, and reports. He is also in editorial boards of many scientific journals and serves as one of the editors of the Biomedical and Robotics Healthcare (CRC Press) and Computational Modeling Applications for Existential Risks (Elsevier) book series. His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine ethics, artificial intelligence safety, biomedical applications, optimization, the chaos theory, distance education, e-learning, computer education, and computer science.
Ahmed Bouferguene
Professor at University of Alberta, Canada
His research is dedicated to developing and implementing advanced algorithms for process optimization, automation, and data analytics. In recent years, his research focused on: (a) Leveraging machine learning and computer vision to improve the efficiency and accuracy of condition assessments for buried public infrastructure; (b) Integrating multi-sensor data—including audio, video, and wearable electronics—to improve communication and safety for construction workers; (c) Modeling, animating, and optimizing mobile crane operations; and (d) Automating data-driven simulation modeling for modular construction.
Abdel Serhani Mohamed
Professor at University of Sharjah, UAE
Full Professor of Computer Science at the College of Computing and Informatics, University of Sharjah. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Concordia University (Canada) and has over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and development across the UAE and Canada. His research focuses on smart connected healthcare, cloud computing, big data, and web service security. With around 150 publications to his name, he has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching, research, and academic service.
Metrane Abelmoutalib
Professor at Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco
He is a professor at Cadi Ayaad University, Marrakech, Morocco. His research interests are centered around operations research, mathematical optimization, and computational methods, with a strong focus on mixed-integer linear programming (MILP), constraint aggregation, and solver performance tuning. Over the years, he has authored several peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals such as Computers & Operations Research, the European Journal of Operational Research, and Mathematical Programming. Professor Metrane is also actively engaged in academic services, serving as the Publicity and Communications Chair of the International conference at Sultan Moulay Slimane University. His contributions to the field reflect both theoretical rigor and practical relevance in solving large-scale optimization problems.
